Ephemera/Historia: America's Ruling Class
This article (which I call "America's Ruling Class") just about says it all. Indeed, "our ruling class recruits and renews itself not through meritocracy but rather by taking into itself people whose most prominent feature is their commitment to fit in."

Ephemera: Personal Update
Windows 7 environment 97% complete.
It was six weeks or so since my last post when I decided that it was time to make a change in my computing environment. Together with keeping house while Janie was away and working full time on graveyard shift, I began to back up data, prepare hardware, get MS licenses thanks to Sam's college and NewEgg, with another deka-day of time, a small amount of hour's weariness staring at a screen, I took the plunge.
It is not an easy thing to take the amorphous mass of data, obscure programs, archives, old & new documents in a vast confused system (known only to me), and submit it all to the new Microflaccid way. Linux is good, but sometimes one just wants to go to work and/or game and have it work, without, however, shelling out hundreds of ounces of silver for that irregular sphere with the bite chunk missing. In my case, I think Sauron I mean MS got it right this time with their OS...
To rebuild my system I must take sixteen major steps each with significant multiple sub-steps. But since time presses as a downpressor man upon our precious life-energy eaten by the collective, I leave that to another post. Hopefully soon.
