The Sublime & Beautiful vs. Reality

This blog is a record of one man's struggle to search for scientific, philosophical, and religious truth in the face of the limitations imposed on him by economics, psychology, and social conditioning; it is the philosophical outworking of everyday life in contrast to ideals and how it could have been.

The chief aim of all investigations of the external world should be to discover the rational order and harmony which has been imposed on it by God
and which He revealed to us in the language of mathematics.

Personal Update: LinuxFest 2007

Well...I just got back from Linux Fest 2007 yesterday. The fest was held at Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham Washington (USA). Everyone was very polite and it was interesting to talk to them. One of the more enjoyable parts of the gathering was the party Saturday night hosted by Silicon Mechanics (a company out of Bothell). This party took place in the American Museum of Radio and Electricity. The museum is owned by one of the local citizens of Bellingham and even has a small commercial radio station (only a 100 watts). The building that the museum is located in has some adjoining dance-hall sized space which was set up for food and drinks. Onto one wall was projected a visual avatar of some "Second Life" DJ--interesting but the selection of music sucked. The food was excellent and the drinks were free and everyone was very responsible. Bob and I loved this museum because I am interested in radio somewhat and for Bob it is a passion of his, and in addition since my profession is directly related to electricity, I also enjoyed the exhibits on the early development of electricity. Perhaps later I will metaphorize the experience of the fest into my story, "The Mission".

The entries may become less frequent for awhile as I am under geas to complete many home projects before my mother-in-law gets here from Alaska next month. May God give me much grace.
