As a place-holder to this blog for the (almost over) month of February (2008), I thought I would give some excuses, I mean reasons, for no entries.
Our literary group did not meet for the month and I've been too busy with everyday life to start the next book on my own.
My side-job businesses have picked up a little and I had some opportunities to work some overtime at my main job. I built a server for the company my brother Stuart works for and repaired a computer for one of my former clients. I also squeezed in two trade related jobs, etc.
I've been working on background material for some characters in a story based on the universe of the Traveller RPG and of course reading up on some of my gaming references. The built-in check & balance is that everyone (incl. my conscience, my other conscience-my wife, and the guilt complex of a Calvinist Christian that's not supposed to goof off) has kept me from getting too preoccupied with my "research".
I am now involved in many bible studies; here is the list (from the top of my memory cache-head):
*Bible Study Fellowship (their notes are written by Boice)
*One-on-one with a friend beginning with 1&2 Samuel (Precepts, but supplemented with Leithart's book, Pastor Rayburn's sermons, and my own sources).
*Disciplines of Godly Men Sunday school class involving memorization, reading, etc.
*and then I'm supposed to squeeze in a quiet time and minister to my family :(.
And now every time I feel the urge to sit down and write at my waiting computer I am prevented by the tyranny of the immediate (like having to go to work or side job). So, I have stolen a few minutes to whine here in the place-holder entry. Cheers to everyone.
Some day maybe---

Well, at least you don't blog more when you're busy. Sounds like you have too much of a life to blog. Not a bad thing.
I heard about Traveller back in my high school days. Is it still around?
Traveller went through several incarnations (from Classic Traveller to MegaTraveller to Traveller the New Era--TNE) before the demise of GDW. Mark Miller (the main author of the game) kept the rights and started his company Far Future Enterprises (FFE). FFE has licensed the game to Steve Jackson Games who has released the GURPS Traveller line. There was also Traveller 4th edition (T4) and now Traveller 5th edition (T5). Also the game has been licensed to the d20 crowd.
Anyway thanks for reading.
